A week long post..:)

I was writing today's post when I saw a video on FB posted by a friend..Its soo cute..made my eyes all watery..have a look.. you'll like it too...

Now that was yesterday..been writing this post for a while now..:D
So how have u been ???
I have been good..I had every intention of writing down blogs everyday..but was caught up wid things..Well not exactly..You know there are days when u don't want to do things..past few days have been those..:)
So today I want to share my thrift store find with you...
What do you see in the snap below??

Pop of colors on white..:D...thats what a friend of ours said when she came to this weekend. She said I have seen that you tend to favor reds and pinks...To that I said I do(I love bright colors you see..:)..).
But in this case many of the stuff I did/made came from one bolt of fabric..
I thrifted this big bolt of fabric ~ very brightly colored, yellows, fuchsia, reds, oranges.. perfect one for me..n all for $2..:D..you Sometimes find such amazing treasures in thrift stores...So coming back to my fabric..
I got it to make pillow shams for my sofa pillows. That was the first thing I made from it...2 of them..
Then I used it as an ascent for my Fedora..Remeber how I brightened it wid pink..okaaayy..tried to brighten..:D
Next was our Camera strap cover.Did I told ya that we got new lens(a Nikon 18-300mm VR). And man its big n HEAVY...around 1 kg..I can use it instead of dumbbell..:P..We got it because we didnt want to carry 2-3 lenses all the tym..n we are actually verry happy wid the results..so far so good..
So coming back to Camera strap..If we wanted to lug that camera around for a looongg tym(this tym we took it hiking), we needed some neck support.I saw some amazing camera strap covers online. But paying that insane amount of money for them sounded..well Insane...:D..
So..my here comes my thrifted fabric to rescue..cut some stripes, added some batting..lotsa them..in the end hubby dearest had to stop me from adding more..Well I was doing that for him..He's the one who will carry this heavy thing..:D..
Tadaaaa...did u liked it..seem lil scruffy..well it is..what do u expect after a 3 days in wilderness..:D

So there's more to come from this fabric..there's yellows n oranges left to expolre...:)
will keep ya updated..
So my friend Richa asked whether did my back nail-paint came off easily??
yeah it did..Just dunk the nails in nail-paint remover..Is there anything a good bottle of acetone can't do ~ nail-paint, remove sticker marks, permanent marker stains , temporary tattoos, grease..there's soo much it can do..:)
Well that's it for today..this post just ended up being a bit long..:D
you guys have fun..
Looking forward to Friday tomorrow...

My Louboutins!!!

So what do you do when the NFL season starts and all you have on TV is Football, more football and a little Tennis thrown in between..??? Well!!!..you paint nails..simple..:) I love wearing nailpaints..I change it quite often..Hate chipped nailcolors..which make me change it more frequently..:D..Not big on fancy nailarts..the phool-patti designs are simply not for..:P..For me nailart means painted tips, maybe some stripes if m being adventurous..You get it..right?? So when I saw Adele(I soo dig her red lips) wearing a shimmery silver nailpaint with crimson painted on back of nails,I was a gonner. She matched the sparkles of her shoes with her nailpaint, and the back of nailpaint matched the signature Louboutin sole..I think the idea is fun.. Well that was the Grammy Night many ages ago... I totally forgot about that until I was reading about the Louboutin nails.."Painting the back of nails in red" just like the shoes.Well now I don't have that k...

So for starters here's one more strip from love is .. series... We have a very narrow gallery wall in front our coat closet. Earlier I wanted to put some frames of our favorite photographs. But with only the frames, the wall looked a little empty. so I came up with the idea of adding something extra. I saw something similar on a blog  n wanted to make one for our home..Here's what I did.. 1. So I started with old newspaper, tissue papers, old printouts, catalogues, magazines, coupon booklet..anything that u fancy works...lotsa them...n a pair of scissors, some glue , threads..cut lotsa hearts the little ones, big ones, skinny ones, fat ones.. 2. Cut them free hand..drawing them takes more time and also its more fun cutting them free hand.. 3. I like...

Making Ghee (Clarified Butter) - From Butter

Indian Cuisine use Ghee in nearly every dish from savory Pulao/Biryanis to sweet Mithayis.  Traditionally in India Ghee is made from Cow's milk. Ghee has always been a sacred and celebrated symbol of auspiciousness, nourishment and healing; especially in the daily rituals of cooking and worship. It is thought of free from all impurities, milk residues(Lactose free), and moisture(high shelf life).                                            My mum makes Ghee from full cream that she carefully stores for days.  But here in US we don't cream when we heat the milk . So now I make Ghee at home from Unsalted butter which is quick and easy. I get unsalted butter from Costco...no one can beat Costco for their prices n quality. Ghee is clarified butter. and there is some difference between the two. Here's the process I use the make Ghee. 1. Get Uns...
