A new phone and Long Weekend!!!

So my dearest hubby gifted me a new phone..a Samsung Galaxy S4..
It was quite a surprise..a big one..a 5.3 inch big one....:)

I was so sick of my old phone ~ was slow, the battery died every 5 hours, hanged up between calls n what not..:P..So when I got this one I was in awe for a while. I was really afraid to use it..but was forced to use it this May long weekend...

We, rather I forgot our camera in the car and realized it only after reaching airport..:P
I know what you are thinking..:P

Its unsettling if you dont have a Camera in your hand and you are visiting beautiful places.
This time its was Grand Canyon - Zion - Death Valley..with Las Vegas thrown in for good measures..:)

Here my 13 mp camera came in handy..:P...I took some time to get hang of it but it was worth it..So here are the few snaps taken from my Samsung Galaxy S4...Lemme know how u find the captures...

We found these @ Phoenix Airport. I didn't knew they even existed now...

Chandni O meri Chandni!!!

So I was writing today's blog when I came across Sridevi's new movie "English Vinglish". She's coming back to movies after a long hiatus. This and her recent appearence for the First look for the movie got me thinking that at nearly 50(celebrated her 49th birthday yesterday), she still looks stunning. So scratched all that I had written earlier n started new again. Just this weekend we talking among our friends about Sridevi that how gorgeous she looks. The way way she's looking nowadays, she is giving the 20 something wannabe of Bollywood a run for money. With Priyanka Chopra @ NDTV Greenathon @ Apsara Awards 2012 @ IIFA 2012 @ Bhagnani-Deshmukh Sangeet @ Park Hyaat Launch @ Lakme Fashion Week   @ DCW 2012 I have always been a Sridevi fan. Her Sadma and Lamhe are among my all time favorite movies. I think at that time when actress were there to look good, she was the only one who played such wo...

Making Ghee (Clarified Butter) - From Butter

Indian Cuisine use Ghee in nearly every dish from savory Pulao/Biryanis to sweet Mithayis.  Traditionally in India Ghee is made from Cow's milk. Ghee has always been a sacred and celebrated symbol of auspiciousness, nourishment and healing; especially in the daily rituals of cooking and worship. It is thought of free from all impurities, milk residues(Lactose free), and moisture(high shelf life).                                            My mum makes Ghee from full cream that she carefully stores for days.  But here in US we don't cream when we heat the milk . So now I make Ghee at home from Unsalted butter which is quick and easy. I get unsalted butter from Costco...no one can beat Costco for their prices n quality. Ghee is clarified butter. and there is some difference between the two. Here's the process I use the make Ghee. 1. Get Uns...

Eye Exam!!!

So We went to Ophthalmologist(read eye doctor) today!!! It was my first real eye exam!!!and at 8.30 in morning..well I have nothing to say for that.. Hubby dearest was having his eyes tested so I tagged along with him.. I found it very funny and entertaining.. unlike the dental exams...:D..It went well!!! No specs yet..ALL IS WELL!! The difficult part was living with the dilated pupils for hours..At first when she squirted that yellow liquid and afterwards another one.. everything seemed normal..But when I couldn't even make out the date on my phone, it began to sink in... Imagine no laptop, no phone,no mails, NO FACEBOOK ;)... even cloudy Seattle seemed brighter..Everything was blurred..Even calling up my Maa was difficult as I couldn't make out her name!!!...It definitely took more than 3 hours that my doc said..:P.. n afterwards it wasn't much fun either...So I slept..Sleep is the best remedy to everything.. So my day started at 4 pm today..:D ...
